Hello from Dallas

Hello,

Just signed up.

I live in Dallas. Been riding on and off for 20 years, mostly mountain biking. I'm not very good, but not a complete **** either. Just bought an Electra Townie 21 from Plano Cycling as a recreational bike, and I'm pretty stoked. The bike rocked pretty good on a White Rock Lake ride last weekend.

I'd be interested communicating with other Electra bike riders.

Hello electrafreak, wander over to the regional forums and say hi to the Texas folks. There's a huge contingent of BF members around the DFW area.

Welcome to BF!

Howdy and Welcome. Was just at Plano Cycling and Fitness last weekend. My three year old loved those Electras just inside the front door. I did too. Congrats on teh new bike. Are you a DORBA member? Used to ride with those guys alot when I was single.

Dorba

I actually went into Plano Cycling and Fitness to find a bike for my wife, and of course ended up buying a new bike.

I am not in DORBA. I grew up here in Richardson, and moved back 2 years ago after about 14 years in Austin. Used to ride a bit on the various trails down there. Actually lived on the greenbelt, which was nice. However, since I'm not a talented mountain biker, I tended to get hurt a lot. So it has been a few years since I've been off road.

When I did live here and ride, I rode with a guy named Allen Guimond a lot. His brother, Richard Guimond, was a real bad ass on a mountain bike.

I'm planning to start riding to work a couple of days a week.
