I live in NW Oregon lots of bikes and lots of rain. I got back on my bike last spring after not riding for 10 years. Before that my best friend was my bike. I'm trying to learn as much as I can about bikes, unfortunately I do not have a big bike community in my little town that I can glean info. from. There are a few and I'm hoping to connect in the future. I am converting an old Raleigh into a fixed gear, one, because I really need to learn more about bikes and, two, I have got to ride one of these things. I am very curious. I went to the North American handmade Bike show in Portland last weekend, I now know what lies before me. It's huge and amazing. I really enjoy "bike people". By for now.
Hello klatskanai, it's too bad you did not join up before--you could have met many of us in person at the NAHBS :) . We had a mini coffee break on Saturday, and a meeting Saturday evening at the Lucky Labrador.
Check out the NAHBS thread in Classic & Vintage--perhaps you remember seeing some of us?
At any rate, Welcome to BF!
