Confused!!!!!

Need Help. I've started riding 4 months ago and now I'm hooked!! I'm looking to buy a new road bike but the more I shop around the more confused I get. I'm 6'2" and I weigh 210 lbs. I'm very athletic (hockey player). I've been riding approximately 30-40 kms. a day for about 3-4 days a week and I average about 25 - 26 kms. per hour. I currently ride an old Phoenix Boulder mountain bike that I've somewhat converted for the road.
Can anybody give me some recommendations as to what they think would be good for my size and budget??? Budget $2500.00 canadian.

Thanks,
Clutch

You should ask your questions in the topic specific forums, it will be much more responsive as more people frequent the specific forums.

I have been a loyal Trek rider for years and my current road bike is the Trek 1500. The bike works fairly well for me and you and I are the same height but I am 2 lbs heavier. You can check it out at http://www.trekbikes.com/bikes/2004/road/1500.jsp

Another option would be and Ibex Corrida LT 4.4 One of the guys in the local cycling club bought one of these about two months ago and just loves it. It is a road bike but it has a flat bar handle bar like a MTB. My friend let me ride his new bike for about 20 miles a few weeks ago and I was really impressed! It's amazing how much more natural and comfortable that flat bar is. The only problem I ever have with my Trek is that I frequently have bad backaches after riding it, even on short distances. I have always attributed this to an old back injury. But I didn't have a backache when I finished riding the Ibex.

Ibex doesn't have any retail outlets, you buy from them factory direct. They currently have their 2003 model year cycles on sale. I plan on buying one myself but I've been waiting to see if they get even cheaper when the 2004 lineup comes out. Check them out at http://www.ibexbikes.com/bikes_03CorridaLT.html
