newbie with no hair, Pelone

I am a lucky sob. I live in New Mexico. Albuquerque got some national notice for having bike trails and we're getting some international training here with us locals. I've been peddling since college in Baltimore. Mica '74. Survived liver disease and last years breaking of the collar bone scapula radius thumb smashing wreck. I wear a yellow band for all those who aren't with us. Bought an older ti Airborne zeppelin and built it up. I like. I read these threads and found you all entertaining and helpful.

Recently I met with a nutritional trainer and now I'm doing recovery drinks directly after a ride. Does anybody have recipes for quick shakes or natural junk to stuff in your face after those killer rides?

Hello AG, what happened with the wreck? Was that on a bike ? You sound like a tough cyclist, to have survived liver disease and a wreck! Why no hair?

Check the Training & Nutrition forum for those recipes.

Welcome to BF!

The older I get the luckier I feel (57) What does kills you usually leaves a mark. I haven't figured out why somebody said it made you stronger. I been tried to build a ride group(4 so far) and we go south of albuquerque where Los Pelones Locos have tagged the concrete.
After years of seeing this we named our gang the Los Pelones Locos Anejos ( pelone translate in Spanish as bald, but the name recalls the young brave shaved head recruits for the Mexican revolution. As for me "viva la revolution"

That is a great piece of trivia for me to tuck away, thank you for the explanation.

Viva la Revolution, especially the ones that can be done on a bike!

AG here you go my special smoothie....I call it turuluti smoothie after my dog tullie...she just keeps tulling and tulling and tulling around with no dead battery in sight!!! I do one jar a divide it during the day....hope you like it... Frozen fruit are from Costco bags... Much tastier than recovery drinks!!!

One full jar is 735 Cal with about 100 from fat (14%) a 12 oz glass will have about 132 calories...And if you dont add much water it truly comes out almost like an ice cream...use a good blender
Gold Milled Flax 2 tbs
Dry oats 4 tbs
Goat Whey (vanilla flavor) 2 tbs
Frozen Mixed Fruits about 2 cups
Soy Milk 1.5 cups
OJ Natural 1.5 cups
Vanilla Yogurt .5 cups
Add water to make it as liquid as you like....
