Hello from Rochester

Hi everyone,
I've been reading posts on this site for a little while so I figured it was time to register. I started my third season of commuting this week, but I've been dorking around on my cheap sporting goods store mountain bike until now. On Saturday I'm going to buy my first "good" bike. I haven't decided yet, but this week I've been to a couple lbs's and have ridden a few bikes. I've narrowed it down to a Specialized Sirrus Sport ('07 model), a Cannondale Road Warrior 3, Trek FX 7.3 or 7.5. I can't tell you how excited I am. I think my wife just wants me to get it already so I stop talking to her about "my new bike".

Hi Brian, hahahaha if your wife thinks that you getting a new bike will stop you from talking about your new bike.

Sorry, she just doesn't understand the love we have for those bikes.

I'm going to send another member, Tude, over here to talk to you. She's from your neck of the woods, and always like to say hi to the new Rochester/Buffalo folks!

Welcome to BF!

East Hill

I swear your star keeps getting bigger!

I'm thinking of this as my sig line! HA - I do think mine is bigger

Oh and Hi Brian - good to see a fellow commuter in town. My ride takes me right into the heart of downtown - and all those lovely peeps who enjoy my presence on their highway.

I like my mtb as my commuter, ruined a set of wheels when I was using my roadbike with .23's on it for commuting - potholes, potholes and more potholes. I do both though road and mtb. Sirrus looks like a good bike for your commute! Welcome!

My pink star may be getting bigger, but it is the weight weenie carbon fibre version .

Yours is very happy! Perhaps I should get mine remade with a big smile?

At any rate Brian, don't be shy, we are a fun loving bunch here!

Hey Brian, I'm from (past tense) Rochester. Welcome to BikeForums.

Tude is good peeps. I had the good fortune to go on a ride with her and another of the BF folks from the old stomping grounds last year.

p.s. East Hill is great too. Haven't met her in person yet though.
