Hello Couvester, you da man! (or woman, as the case may be ). Do you do the commute every day, rain, shine, ice, snow? Are you car free as well?

    Welcome to BF!

    hey

how ya doing, I ride about 4 to 5 days a week, I dont like riding in snow or icey weather. I do have a truck I use on days when saddle sores are screaming NO MORE!!. I dont really know why I ride so much, I dont belong to a club or anything like that and I dont race either, I just enjoy getting from point A to point B on my own power, maybe I like pain or something, I dont know. Right now my bike is in the shop becasue its rusting away, I got rid of my carbon scattante and bought this steel frame poprad, its a much better ride I tell ya, so much smoother I guess is a good term to descrbe it, the carbon was too rigid, not real good for commuting if you ask me, I rode that bike for 5 years and never realized how harsh it was. Anyway my new bike is rusting away at this moment, theres rust dripping out of the head tube and the seat and chain stays, I'm a little dissapointed if you want the truth, I know its a steel frame but I didnt expect this to happen after only a month of riding it, so my LBS is going to tear it down and framesaver it, but I think once the rust gets started you really cant stop it, maybe slow it down is all. Its raining here right now, the weather sucks this week. Any way what about you, what type of riding are you into?

Welcome. Which bridge do you take?
"Real wars of words are harder to win. They require thought, insight, precision, articulation, knowledge, and experience. They require the humility to admit when you are wrong. They recognize that the dialectic is not about making us look at you, but about us all looking together for the truth."

That does seem a bit odd that you would have rust already. Curious. Framesaver should help, though.

What kind of riding do I do? I have a 1985 Fuji Thrill rigid mountain bike, and all the other bikes in my stable are vintage steel, with the sole exception of my Rodriguez, which was built around 1998...mind you, it's still a steel bike!

Road cycling, climbing hills, commuting--just about everything except BMX, and I tried that until my husband saw me attempting tricks .

When I zoomed through Portland today (on my way home from California, back up to Kent, WA), it was throwing down rain .

Perhaps by Wednesday it will be back to being dry!
