Newbie with an old bent
Hi all,
I'm new to this forum and wanted to say hello. In the last 6 months my job moved from 28 miles away to about 5 miles away. My wife and I are in our mid to late forties and have decided to make some changes. We've started eating mostly organic and buy as much from local producers as we can. I decided that with a 10 mile RT commute, I should be able to ride to work and get some much needed excercise and save a few $$ on gas. I have an old ReBike 707 I was given when I worked for a company that did display work for Huffy when they first bought ReBike. There probably isn't 100 miles on the bike. I purchased some front and rear lighting, rain gear, a safety vest and a good lock. I rode into work today just to see how the route I picked would work. A couple of hills were tougher than I thought (can't use your weight to help on a bent. It's all leg work) and I ended up walking some. You've got to start somewhere, right?
I've learned quite a bit lurking on here for a couple of weeks and look forward to participating.

Hi Bruce! You are off to a good start with those changes. You are also darn lucky to get given a recumbent .
We're always happy to see lurkers become members, and perhaps eventually we'll even get you posting, as well .
