For fun an old Centurion that I converted to a single speed. Commuting on an old Diamondback mountain bike with slicks, rack, fenders, and lights. My mountain bike is an old Klein Rascal from my racing days in the early 1990s. I sold my Litespeed 4 years ago (didn't like it). To replace it I just got a used Klein Quantum frame that I'm in the process of building up.

Quite a selection there! What's the model of the Centurion? Do I understand that you are still building the Klein?

I have no idea the exact model except that it's marked "LeMond" on the chainstay, has center-pull brakes, and painted a dark maroon color - probably from the early '70s.

And yes, I got the Quantum frame on ebay and am now looking for parts. It came with an aluminum fork that I'll probaby replace with carbon (I once had a bike with the same exact fork and it flexed like a noodle on fast descents); the rest will be whatever I can find at a good price. Wheels, bar, stem, and fork I'll buy new (for peace of mind), but the rest will likely be used.

Do you have any photos of the Centurion? That sounds like an interesting one...

As for the aluminium fork on the Quantum--I don't think I'd trust it either .

Enjoy your building!
