Kiwi in Canada says Hi
Glad to join this group - I need all the help I can get! I come from a running background (forever) and started triathlons about 4 years ago on my trusty 20-year old 10-speed (with mudguards; I think i took off the carrier ;-)) and qualified for Worlds! So that hooked me. Besides, a little less wear and tear on the old joints on the bike and the swim...except for the few falls on the shoulders when I decided to get clip-ins. So this year I am training really hard because, well, you never get any younger do you! And it's all down hill from where I'm looking. I do Olympic distance duathlons and triathlons. I signed up to do a Half IM this year, just because.... I think it's because I have this death wish, I mean, Death Race I was thinking of doing so why not try a longer triathlon first? It's in Lake Steven's WA - looks like a great course. (I notice that one of the moderators lives nearby...). Anyway, greetings all. Happy cycling.

Forgot to mention that I have, besides my Apollo 10-spd, a heavy rusty commuter MTB for winter-driving, and a Trek 2000 mit SRM for tri/road biking.

East Hill (our official greeter)must be off playing with Mr East Hill so as deputy greeter I will say, Welcome to Bike Forums !
It looks like you will find many little rooms here to play in since you seem to have some wide cycling interests.

Thanks Sixty Fiver! I was not playing , I was working ...
K1W1, could we get some photos of the Apollo in the Classic & Vintage forum? We love seeing those photos of older bikes .
Lake Stevens is a beautiful area, should be nice for a longer first triathlon! Do you live in Vancouver, then?
Welcome to BF!

EH - We may have already met as Kiwi says she and her hubby dropped some bikes off at our shop a few months ago.
An Edmonton BF meet and greet is certainly in order.
