hi

Hi, I'm Aaron. 20. College student. From the Bay Area, but go to school on the central coast. I like to ride road bikes. Fast. I've been lurking for a while now, so I finally thought I'd make the plunge of registering at these forums.

The bike I'm riding now is older than me - A 1985 Miyata Six-Ten. It was my mom's road bike, but I think she got married and had some kid or something, and stopped riding it. It was pretty much unused until I grew enough to ride it (my mom is pretty tall - 5'-10" ish). I'm a bit taller than that now, so I've almost run out of seatpost. It still fits me pretty well though. This summer I'm looking to get a bike I can call my own.

Hello Aaron, are you fast enough to be a racer? Do you have photos of the Miyata? The Classic & Vintage forum folks would love to see your 610.

Welcome to BF!

I'd like to think I'm fast enough I have been known to pass snobby cyclists in full team kits and fancy expensive carbon fiber bikes who don't wave/nod back at me. I also can keep a pretty brisk pace for relatively long distances (50+mi) without tiring. If it wasn't for school (and if I was another major besides engineering ) I would consider racing. I can't wait until I can see how much faster I can go on a bike that weighs less than 25 pounds.

Unfortunately I do not have a camera with me now, but maybe when I'm home on break this summer I can post an obligatory white garage door pic.
