Greetings from London

Hi there, I'm just getting back to cycling. I used to commute to work by bike, then for the last few years I have been on a motorbike instead. For the moment I am enjoying a work-free environment and I intend to take my (new, smallish) bike with my when I travel. I look forward to some great summer days in the saddle!

Glad to be here.

Hello PT, ah, to be work-free and be able to ride the bike whenever desired :) . What part of London are you in, and where do you normally ride (other than commuting).

Welcome to BF!

Welcome PT! Bike and motorbike are definitely better ways to get about London than a car. :)

I've just started taking one of my bikes (a Birdy which is a folding bike) with me when I travel, it is definitely a fun way to go.

What kind of bike are you planning on taking with you? Have fun! :D

Ah, just saw your post in the Folding Bikes forum. Congrats on your new Dahon! Definitely looking forward to pictures and a ride report. :)

Thank you all. I am in West Kensington, so Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park are close by (when in the parks you just need to ignore all "Cyclists dismount" and "No Cycling" signs that are littered throughout... I say let common sense prevail :) )
Not so keen on doing the traffic anymore on a bicycle, after riding on my motorbike it feels unsafe and not too fun, but maybe I need to get used to it again.

You are close to being in the City itself, then, not on the outskirts! I will remember to ignore the No Cycling and Cyclists Dismount signs the next time I am in Hyde Park :D .
