hi everyone - old skool Pinarello from Toronto Canada
hey everyone,
looking forward to hanging out here giving and getting advice.
just pulled my pinarello after 10 years of hibernation. bought a Tacx trainer and started last week.
after a brutal winter the cyclists are appearing everywhere but my bike needs a serious rebuild.
its got mostly super record which was the lightest and most expensive at the time but the new stuff is great. so much lighter and aero... there goes my income!
hope to log a lot of miles this year, maybe join a club and do some racing. i'll start with some charity runs.
i'm what you kids now call a "weight weenie"
the component search begins...

Hello wideAMG, how old is the Pinarello? Super Record is still mighty fine componentry, especially if you are like me and enjoy vintage bikes.
Welcome to BF, and feel free to PM me with any questions !

i built in the early 80s.
haven't really updated since.
i haven't decided if i am going to keep the frame and put new components on it or sell it and go for a new machine altogether. i do have new decals on order.
i'll post a pic and info in the vintage forum.

wideAMG, very cool bike!
don't change ANYTHING on it at all. leave it just as it is and simply adjust/lubricate/grease the parts.
decals should be saved for when you have it professionally repainted they can be buried beneath the final clearcoat.
