Introduction
I am an 82 year old road biker. I have ridden road bike for most of the last 65 years. In 1981 in an automobile accident I lost my left leg below the knee and permanently damaged my right knee. This has considerably limited my performance so I ride a road bike with a triple bottom bracket and have an 11X32 cassette on my Shimano Ultegra components. My bike is a Trek 5200 T. I ride my bike almost every day for one to two and a half hours in the vicinity of the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. I love the bike and try to promote it in any way that I can. I am very pleased to see the increase in popularity of good bicycles in recent years along with suitable bicycling togs.

Welcome to BikeForums.
I hope I'm still riding when I'm 82. Heck, I hope I make it to 82.

Welcome to the Forums!! Recently a post was made referring our membership having a wide age group from teens to septgenarians. Now it will have to be revised to include an octogenarian. You may be our oldest member and your prize, if there are no disputes, will be as many free postings as you choose to make. Come to think of it, that's the same prize given to all new members.
A tiny word of caution is due, however, because we have a kid here who is a hellova nice guy, a school teacher from Denver --or around there-- who absolutely refuses to let anyone use certain words or phrases without his climbing on their case. Words like "old" "aged" "senior citizen" etc just start him on an educational tirade about the use of such language. He's still a young pup at 65, or so, so you have to forgive his brashness, but beware of what you say. Anyway, again, welcome to the forums and I for one will look forward to your future input.

Hey, me too.
I had a test on the net done recently about life expectancy, and it said I would die at 82. So I wish you long life and a good life, too.
