Hey there, just introducing myself. I've been riding seriously since 87 not including BMX in the early 80's. I'd have to say I got my real start at serious cycling with Cycle Smithy in Chicago. I was racing mountain bikes occasionally in the midwest on an 87 Bridgestone MB-1. Eventually moved to Hamburg, Germany for work and continued riding and racing there. I added a 94 MB-1 and a 90 RB-1 to the stable during this time. Towards the end of my german tenure i acquired a Waterford X-12. All Bridgestone's are built to typical Bridgestone specs of Suntour XC-Pro, Superbe Pro, thumbshifters/bar-ends as well as mavic and ritchey cranks. The Waterford (753 baby!)took a step towards the modern world with Shimano XTR with Ritchey cranks.

Unfortunately I've pretty much stopped riding in general though I'm trying to get back on the bike.

Thanks! Yeah, 4 Bridgestone's actually. 3 MB-1's and an RB-1. Almost had a Rivendell but a mistake in sizing forced me to give up the frame after it was built, so i got the Waterford instead.

You certainly don't bother with lesser bikes, do you ?

Those are all excellent bikes for the stable!

yeah, full retrogrouch here. I'll save up to buy something I'm passionate about. Love my steel, though I have an aluminum vitus cross bike still sitting in germany.
