Love to Ride
I'm new to the forum and live in Santa Barbara, CA. Although I have a car, for the past three years, I drive only when I absolutely must. Work is 11 miles away, so between the daily commute and errands on the weekends, I usually end up putting 120 miles each week on my bike. I've been riding a Breezer Liberty, but just recently bought a new Trek 520, which I am in the process of customizing for long road trips. I dream of traveling long distances by bicycle. I hope to learn a lot of useful information on this forum and look forward to the exchanges.

Hello mspetie, the Breezer is a nice bike, but I don't think I would ride it much more than 20 miles in one go. The 520 should be compatible with your dreams of long distance cycling. Are you thinking about doing brevets and randonees?
