Breaking Away

Hey everyone My name is Brandon, and im From SoCal. I have a Problem, I'm addicted to Bikes. Every aspect. The only two ive yet to try are Cx and Trials. Well, im also on SoCalTrailRiders.org and decided to join this site also.

Oh and also, does anyone know what kind of bike the kid uses in the race against the Italians in Breaking away, when he is smacked with the pump and knocked off his bike? And also does anyone know where to pick one up? thanks

I think it was a 1978 Masi Gran Criterium that Dave rode in that movie.

I believe jsharr is correct about the year and model, but definitely is correct about it being a Masi. Hope you have $3,000 or so to spend getting one. They're big-time collectibles - not to mention being very well made and great handling bicycles (or so everyone I know who has one claims). Keep your eye on ebay, or try checking the postings on classic rendezvous (www.bikelist.org).

btw - Welcome to BF
