Salutations from Michigan!

Hi! I'm from Southern Michigan about 50 miles north of Detroit in a small farming community.

There aren't too many cyclists around here but the numbers are growing. The closest bicycle club to me is about 30 some miles away.

I hope to meet up with some of you some day!

Tony

Hey Toni! There aren't many cyclists in my area either, but we do the best with the riders we have around. Solo, and small group rides can be fun also!

Welcome to BikeForums!

A touring bike? Are you planning any adventures for the near future?

Yes, I am, but not too far to begin with. But I may put my 530 up for sale since it is too small for me and I only have less than 200 miles on it and get a Surly Long Haul Trucker.

I went to a bike store here in Columbus, Ohio (visiting family) and they at Roll were very helpful and even measured me with their digital laser measuring device. They said they could order me a Surly and ship it to me and have my LBS assemble it. I may just go to a surly dealer in Michigan though. There is one about 40 miles from me.

Thanks for your question.

The LHT is very highly regarded for touring! I have not actually had the chance to ride one, but I think I shall have to find a dealer near me just to check it out.
