Hello from Western NY
Hi there, I'm Todd from the Bufffalo metro area. My wife and I are in our early 40's and just starting to get into riding. Doing quite a bit of research and shopping looking for the perfect first (and maybe last?) ride. Any folks in the Buffalo/Rochester/Toronto area, feel free to contact me regarding shops/opinions.
Thanks!
Todd
Thanks!

Hellllloooooo from Rochester! Toronto has lots of bike shops (RIP Dukes )
We have lots of good ones around here (quicker than going around the lake)!
Park Ave - 2 shops - with a decent selection and some good people working for them. I've purchased a couple there. https://parkavebike.com/ They are also a Trek/Cannondale dealer - ooo and not to forget some gorgeous Cervelos too.
Towners - large shop with a big inventory. Do a lot with Giant/Specialized. https://www.towners.com/ currently have a FS mtb on hold there for me.
Peddlers - big shop with a good inventory. I don't get out there that much. A couple of the bike brands there are Surley and Pinarellos. https://www.pedallers.com/
Full Moon Vista - they are right downtown by me (ahhhh, lovely to walk to a LBS for lunch) - I know them all pretty well. Scott (owner) is also the brains and brawn behind our pro race here (was the Twilight Criterium now it's a 3 day even and called Rochester Omnium - you should definitely come to this one - in August - I always work it - very fun). Nice shop - deals in Trek, Seven, LaMond, Fisher, Bianchi - not too many bicycles in stock - he orders in. https://www.fullmoonvista.com/
Towpath - along the canal - nice shop and busy. deals in Klein, Treks, Felt https://www.fullmoonvista.com/
RV&E - big shop with a decent inventory. Among others he deals with Trek, Fisher, Specialized. Decent mtb stock too. https://www.rvebike.com/
Trailblazers - decent shop - has roadies, but leans toward mtb. I go and drool on Konas, Yetis, Cannandales and Fugis. https://trailblazersbike.com/ My brother's bought a couple bikes out of that shop and is quite pleased with everything.
Hopefully this gives you a start Happy hunting. I can't go into LBS anymore - I have a few bikes in each shop I want.
I'll be in Buffalo 6/25 on my way to Hamburg NY --- but we like to bike thru Buffalo on 5:00 Friday rush hour traffic (at least the last couple times I've done this tour). Gets a tad hairy!
