Southern PA Commuter/Grateful Biker

Hello Bicycling Community of Friends and Family,

I Am Truly Indebted As a Man To This Site and Its Wonderful,Intelligent, Often Times Humble Community of Teachers and Peers. It Is Truly MY Pleasure To Be Here! My Story Is Short and I'll Give Courtesy To Your Important Time. I Discovered Biking At Age 4 With Singlespeed Dirt Jumpers. "Dyno,Mongoose." I Lived Close To School Till 18 And Started Work At 15 in Local Warehouse. I Have NEVER Owned a CAR or Motor Vehicle. I Live "Close" to a Ski Resort, My Job,Grocery Store,Schools,River. I Am NIGHT COMMUTER for About 5 Years Now. I Like Skiing,Soccer,Jet-Skiing,And BICYCLING. The Wisdom I've gained From This Site Over The years Has Inspired Me To Seek The Life I WANT. The Wisest Thing I've Ever Been Told Was NONE Bike Related!! I Work as FULL Time Night manager and Go To School PT For Nuclear Chemistry and Cellular Biology Dual Major. I Am a JUNIOR. Anyways, A Post I Came Across Spoke of Young Men and Women BEGINNING a 401K Through Their Employer With All This Extra Money That "NORMAL" People Use For Cars. Long Story Short I Started 5 Years Ago. Im 24 With The Pension Average Of 45-47 Year Olds And Will Retire In About 8-10 Years at a Maxed Million Policy. I Will Continue To Pursue My Degree PT and If I Get ANother Job With My Actual COLLEGE Education(NotNight-Manager) I Will Do it PT Just For my Own Pleasure and May Make a COmpany Very happy Doin it For "Free." My Life and Wellbeing is Indebted To All Forums and posters But Especially The FINANCIAL Advice I've Received!!

Update: Currently Riding a KHS DJ 200 With Extensive Upgrades About 10 Miles Each Way Semi-Hilly/Some Dirt Trails To Work(Personally Made With Machete and Hand Removal Of Jagged Rocks at 3 AM!!!!)

I Truly Do Appreciate Your Wisdom and Time, Kelvino,Grateful In Southern Pennsylvania

Hi Kelvino, I would really love to have seen you out slashing brush at 3.00 am . I am just changing from working graveyard for almost 30 years, to working day shift . It's different, very different!

That is cool that you were able to learn something non-cycling related, and were able to put that knowledge to good use. Good luck with your future plans, and keep cycling .

Welcome to BF, and feel free to PM me with any questions !

Welcome to BF.

Er...eh...isn't hard hitting the shift key to capitalize the fist letter of EVERY word. Are the books and letters you read printed this way? It hurts my eyes.
