Hello from Reno!

Hello everyone, I am new to cycling and really only got into it when my girlfriend recently purchased me a bike as a gift. However, the decals are not on the bike and I have no idea what the brand is, but I am sure it is a cheap road bike. It has, however, sparked my interest in the sport and I give all the thanks to her. Now I want to learn more about the sport and hopefully save up enough to by a higher end bike sooner or later. Two months so far and I am still obsessed with biking everyday. Here is to better health and less money going toward gas!

Hello Peralta775! So....the bike is a road bike, and not a SS/FG? Are you commuting, or are you planning on doing some racing?

Welcome to BF, and feel free to PM me with any questions !

It is a road bike, but I don't know what a SS/FG is. I use it to commute when the weather is nice but I do want to get into racing. Any tips?

SS/FG = Single Speed/Fixed Gear.

As for racing tips, check out the Road Cycling forum, and possibly the Nutrition and Training forum.
