Howdy

Hey there,

My wife and I moved down to Raleigh from Western North Carolina last summer after we got married. I've recently gotten interested in commuter/city bicycles, and I stumbled on the Bike Forums while researching. We're both teachers at the same school and she is deathly afraid of bikes, so we'll continue driving the good ole Forrester to work together. But, since we live near downtown out of the sprawl that surrounds Raleigh, I'm really interested in riding for errands and just cruising around to check out the city.

I used to do a fair bit of mountain biking in Western North Carolina and Southwest Virginia. Had to sell my MTB (a fairly sick Trek that I paid for with my summer camp counselor income one year) when I was unemployed for a spell after college, and therein began my days of non-biking. Looking forward to getting back to it...

I've enjoyed checking out the forums so far!

Hello Jeb, it's too bad your wife is afraid of bicycles--is there a reason why? I can't imagine being afraid of a bicycle...oh. What are you riding?

Welcome to BF, and feel free to PM me with any questions !

Thanks! She's just a bit weird like that...I'll be doing my best to change her mind.

I am actually sans-bicycle currently (part of the reason I'm here now). I stumbled on the forums while researching Marin Muirwoods, Breezers, Surlys, etc. I's bike shopping.

Well, perhaps you will be able to persuade her. Or let some of us let her know that cycling is not bad!
