Hi my name is paul, i live in dorset in the uk, i originaly came from watford near london, i moved 10 years ago, i have 3 children 1 years old 2 years old and 9 , im 38 , ive ridden bikes since i was 7 and have never stopped , i dont drive, i just ride, and still love it now as i did then, i rode bmx in the 80's and got my first mtb in 88, then my first road bike in 89, in the 90's i raced road bikes and did lots of long distance touring,sadly these days due to family commitments i dont get much time to go off on long rides, but in august im off for a weekend of touring with my brother, i cant wait, although i use to have loads of bikes ive had to slim down over the years due to space, these days ive got a cannondale m800 beast of the east model, my 95 kona kilauea ive had that since new, and my light tourer a carrera valour, not a top end bike but great value, plus ive changed a few bits, lovely to ride , this looks like a great forum and hopefully will get me back on track for future touring, look forward to chatting, paul

When my parents (who had emigrated from Manchester to Los Angeles) moved us to San Jose, CA, I thought I had died and gone to heaven because it POURED rain every day .

Turned out to be one of those 'hundred year events', and I was sad to learn that the lovely rain was actually a rarity .

Now I live in Puget Sound, where we still don't get enough rain for my taste, but it's definitely more wet than San Jose .
