Hi. My name is Steve. I live in New Jersey. I used to ride my bike all over as a kid, but got back into it about four years ago after I had surgery to repair a torn meniscus in one of my knees. My ACL was also stretched, but didn't tear. THe doctor advised me to stay away from basketball, which was my favorite sport, and consider cycling because it keeps the knee straight. So I bought a Fuji Crosstown 21 speed hybrid and I love it. I try to ride after work and on the weekends. I really enjoyed watching the Tour de France these past three weeks.
Question: I rode 30 miles this past Saturday and the knee I had surgery on is a little sore. Is it possible to tear the meniscus or ACL while cycling? Or did I just overdo it. I usually ride 10-20 miles at one time.
I really enjoy the Bike Forums website. There's a lot of good info here.

I don't know the answer to your question, but I would imagine that the folks in the Training and Nutrition forum could possibly answer your question.
