<3 biking

Hi, name's Joe, I live in Ohio.
Started biking last summer to and from my restaurant job because I felt guilty driving the 5 miles. Now I bike every day of the week and have vowed to never buy a car.
Currently, I'm still riding this diamondback mountain bike all over the place, but I'm looking for a nice fixed-gear to ride when I move to Philadelphia this fall.
I know nothing of brands, equipment, or maintenance (save tube replacement and spoke adjustment) and I hope to learn as much as I can from you guys so I can keep my lifelong commitment to cycling.

Hi Joe, good for you about not buying a car. I know a lot of people who feel trapped by their cars because of the insurance requirements, cost for parking, and we won't even discuss the cost of fuel.

There a lot of very helpful members in PHL, so you might want to check in with the regional forums to say hi.

Welcome to BF, and feel free to PM me with any questions !
