New guy from California

Hi All,
I'm a new guy from California. I've been riding all my life and have tried mountain biking, road racing, and triathlon. I haven't ridden much in the past bunch of years as I have been raising young kids. Now my boys are getting old enough to be able to ride further so I am getting the bug again. I am selling my Miyata 914SE and my 1992 Ibis SS mountain bike to buy my first fixie. It'll be a Redline 925 ( I think it is a 2006 model) so I am really excited. It has a flip flop hub so I shouldn't die too quickly.... Thanks for letting me play.

Just make sure you have a front brake! We really don't want you dying soon, and besides, you want to set a good example for the boys, right?

Do you have to sell both the bikes? It would be a shame to give up them up...

Welcome to BF, and feel free to PM me with any questions !

Thanks East Hill. Unfortunately I do have to sell them both. My Ibis is converted to a single speed but I kept all my SUNTOUR XC pro/comp components. I just am not riding it. My Miyata has been hanging next to my Ibis in the garage for too many years. I have the bug hard to go fixie and converting either one of my bikes to a fixie is going to be almost as much as a new bike. My local shop has these old models complete for $300 (with a flip flop hub). Money is REALLY tight and I just cannot fork out raw cash. I have to replace something. It feels like waiting for Christmas as I cannot buy my new bike until I sell my old ones.

Yes I will have a front break
