another gear

Hi to all. I'm from southern WV and like to ride for exercise and (getting away from it all). I currently ride an old Huffy Techtra (Someone's laughing right now I can just feel it). I'm kind of getting into it and am thinking of a new bike, since I've been doing about 20 miles a day and it's getting easy. Hope to get better and do some group rides or something like that. Later, Rick.

Hi Rick, no matter what the ride, no one will laugh at your bike in Introductions. I can't guarantee that in any of the other forums, but here, we want to encourage you .

You are doing well if you are getting in 20 miles a day--what bikes are you looking at for the future?

Welcome to BF, and feel free to PM me with any questions !

Hi East Hill. Thanks for the encouragement. Nothing beats the feeling when you overcome a hill or a longer distance than before. I'm looking at getting a good road bike with relaxed geometry, something that will last. I will probably spend 750 at the least. Any suggestions?

Check out the stickies in the Road Cycling forum. There should be a thread on bikes for every budget.

Although, if you want something that will last, you definitely probably want to stay away from carbon fibre.
