Hello from Cumbria!

Hi,

I'm Laura, and I come from the north of England (cumbria).

After seeing my weight escalate to about 17st 9lb, I finally snapped and decided to do something about it. I'm now down to 16st on the nose, and finally have enough energy to cycle for more than 10 minutes at a time!

I'm a mother of two, and our 4 year old cycles with us in the afternoons. It's great because his pace is about level with my very unfit/slow pace . The baby sits in a child seat on the back of his dads bike.

I really hope to keep this up, as this is the only sport I have every really enjoyed!

Hi there,

Cheers to you for being active and doing something you enjoy. Our official greeter (East Hill) hails from Lancashire - although she's lived here in the US for a long time.

Hang in there. There are a lot of helpful folks here (and a few of the others too).

Take care,

Z

Hello Laura, Zorro is correct--I am a Lanky Lass born and bred! Cumbria is a beautiful place, though, and I would love to visit there again the next time I am in the UK.

Although, some of those little lanes are a bit frightening !

Are you riding on roads, or towpaths/bridle trails?

Welcome to BF, and feel free to PM me with any questions !
