Just got my first "bacon"

Hello! I have been riding for a little over a year. I had a hybrid but was given a rarely ridden Trek 1000 road bike by my kind brother in law. I love the road bike, but the first time I rode it, I got one block from my home and dropped it. I was not used to the difference in handling from the hybrid. It was there I got my bacon. I was embarrassed but got up and rode the rest of my ride, complete with bloodied elbow and knee and a little more caution. I haven't looked back (or fallen) since. I ride 15 miles 3 to 4 times a week.
