newbie from south central florida

newbie here not only to this forum but to cycling. even with the last name of schwinn i never got into bikes. but im hooked. i have 4 kids thet are as pumped up about it as i am.

i purchased 2 rhino mtb's one full suss and the other is a hard tail. the full suss is going to be sent off to be anadized along with the break levers. i figure i can use that frame and build on it to get what i want. with 4 kids the budget is some what small. so if anyone has any ideas on wheels and tires on a small budget. please feel free to let me know. thx ya'll

Hi there,

The folks in Classic and Vintage are a frugal and resourceful group. They'll also be tickled to welcome a schwinn to the forum. Stop by sometime and let folks know what you have in mind.

Indeed, a real Schwinn would be wonderful!

In the meantime, do you have something like a Bike Kitchen, or bicycle co-op where you live?

Welcome to BF, and feel free to PM me with any questions !

A bike kitchen or co-op is a place where tools are kept for general use, and usually there is someone around who can help you with mechanical problems.

They are run differently, depending on the purpose. Some of them expect the people using the tools to help repair bikes for others, and allow the use of the tools for personal wrenching, sometimes you pay to use the tools.
