Retread

Hi all, I'm a retired trucker 65 yrs. old and figured the best way for me to keep going for a few more yrs. might be to get a bicycle, so I did. I have not ridden a bike since I was a kid, I just got a PT Cruiser 7spd. comfort bike, it looked sorta like my old Schwinn (1955 ) RoadMaster ( without the tank ) and alot more gears ( more fun ). I live in upstate NY and won't have any problem finding back roads ( and hills ) to ride on. I'm happy to have found this site and look forward to learning more about the world of 2 wheeled leg power (lol).

Welcome aboard. The comfort bikes are getting a lot of interest lately. Enjoy!

Hello Radmavs, how many miles have you got on the PT Cruiser now? After having been a trucker, are you longing to get back out on the roads (but on a bicycle this time ?).

Hello EastHill, well, its been over a million+ miles over the road in a big truck and, it was getting a bit boring sitting at home but, now that I've had the bike for a little over a month or so, most of the riding (pedaling) has been discovering muscles that I did'nt know existed except for my left knee (clutching, when I needed to, mostly city driving otherwise I shifted without pushing in the clutch) which is one of the reasons I decided to retire in the first place. I have now ridden about 100 miles (mostly practice, lol) and most of it has been very enjoyable especially when rideing with the grandkids.

Keep it up with the grandkids--it will be a great memory of their childhood one day .
