"Newby" (Bristol,UK).

Hi everyone!...Have just come back to cycling after many years absence. I am hoping to lose some weight and get to some level of fitness again. I have recently purchased a Kalkhoff Agattu electrically assisted bike, Pedelec only, they do not have a throttle. The serious stuff starts next Monday when I start commuting to work and back. I think it's about 11 miles round trip, so should be testing enough for someone like me, and providing I can keep my resolve, it should do the trick.

'Bye for now,

Hello Balthamos, here's hoping the commute will get off to a smooth start! Check out the commuting thread to make certain that you have everything lined up properly.

Welcome to BF, and feel free to PM me with any questions !

Commuting to work etc..

Hi East! Thanks for communication, sorry to have been so long in replying. I have just been so busy of late, guess it's like that for all of us sometimes. Have started my commute to work, it is a bit "hairy" amongst all the traffic, but there are a few bus lanes that I use. With Bristol getting awarded 1st cycling city status, perhaps we can look forward to a few more in this town. Will be in touch from time to time, 'Bye for now

The first few weeks of commuting are always filled with trepidation! Check back in when you can .
