Hello from Austin
I'm not much of one for posting on forums, but thought I'd at least give a brief intro. Back in the late '80s I was riding 6-7000 miles/year, and racing a fair amount. In '91 or so I stopped riding (long story that I won't bore you with). After moving to Idaho, in '95 I got back on the bike for four or five rides that probably totaled 20 miles or so.
I went in to REI a couple weeks ago and stopped and took a quick look at bicycles. Mistake! I've been trying to avoid getting another bike because I knew I'd become addicted again. I went back last Monday and bought a Novara Squadra. So much for that goal... So now my goal is to not start racing again :-)

Yeah, it'll definitely teach me. On the other hand, it'll make for a nice dividend this year :-)
I'm a bit embarrassed to say I've only got 55 miles on it. But I guess that's not too bad for the first week of riding after 13+ years off bikes.

Welcome! I'm in Austin too. The ACA has good rides and there is a good group that rides out of Buck's bikes on tuesday and thursday nights.

Thanks for the welcome! I found the ACA site Sunday, paid for a membership. I'm still waiting for my account to be approved for map access. If Ike decides to stay away a friend and I plan to be in Sun City at 8:00 on Sunday for the ride.
