Greetings from Santa Rosa, CA

Hello everyone! Nice to find a friendly forum like this to get some tips and advice.

I started cycling to work 4 days a week about a month ago after picking up a $10 mountain bike at a yard sale. I have since upgraded to a considerably nicer machine after arranging a swap of my son's Kettler 3-wheeler for a Specialized Stumpjumper with a work colleague - I think I definitely got the better end of the deal there, but his son is absolutely thrilled with the Kettler! ;-)

My commute is around 11 miles each way and I'm enjoying it so much that I've even started to take detours on the way home! Not sure how the Fall and Winter weather is going to impact me - this morning was the first time I was really hampered by the weather as a very fine misty-drizzle was falling and I wear glasses, but my intention is to keep it up through thick and thin!

Looking forward to exploring the forums some more!

Hey welcome Chris! That's some decent commuting mileage, congrats on taking that big step. You'll do your body a world of good with all that riding. Check out the different forums here and hope to see you posting on some of them!!

Hello Chris, what part of SR are you in? I used to live in Sebastopol, Graton, and near Annadel State Park at various times.

Welcome to BF, and feel free to PM me with any questions !

I live in Rincon Valley - to the North-East of Santa Rosa - and work in Rohnert Park. It's a lovely part of the world!
