Welcome to BikeForums.
Stop by the Southeast Regional subforum
and say hello to the locals.
I'm semi-retired and work part-time at Intown Bicycles
in Virginia-Highland. Can't say anything good about Bicycle South. I stopped by there in 2003 when I was unemployed. There was a "sales help wanted" sign on the door. I talked with the store manager about the position. The owner, Fred Boykin (who is about the same age as me), yelled out from the back room, "I want to hire someone younger." He was dead serious and it sounded like age discrimination to me. I was 58 at the time. I have talked with him at bike events and meetings and we have since buried the hatchet, but I vowed I will never support his shop by shopping there or encouraging others to buy from him.
So if you want a good deal on a bike, stop by Intown Bicycles. Lots of friendly helpful folks there.
If you're wanting to take a bike safety class (aka Confident City Cycling
) to teach you how to safely navigate the streets around Decatur and Emory, contact Rebecca at the Atlanta Bicycle Campaign
, 404-881-1112. There will be a class at Emory on Sept 27 and one in Decatur on Oct 18.
And Jesus looking upon them saith, "With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible." - Mark 10:27
