Hi from Jim in Winston Salem NC 9/20/08

Since a week ago ; I am now in training to become a full fledged roadie. I have been mountain biking for ten years and wanted to give road biking a spin The first good climb I came too; where the heck is my climbing gear: So far I have really enjoy road biking mixed with my mountain biking.
Off road ; my ride is a --2005 Cannondale Prophet 1000
My new road ride is a ---2008 Specialized Tarmac
Still getting use to a crankset of 53/39---cars flying by instead of trees I have already pick up some good advice from the site and looking forward in hanging in the draft.
Good rides to all and glad to be a member
Jim

Welcome to the forum Jim! Hahahaha, that's pretty funny, and I've done just the opposite. I was strictly a roadie before getting my mountain bike last year and I still look down and wonder "How come I got so many low gears?"

Enjoy your time here, find a fun niche, and you'll surely find plenty of friends to interact with.

Hi Jim, just wait until you combine road cycling with bicycle commuting! That is sometimes even more of a challenge than avoiding trees .

Welcome to BF, and feel free to PM me with any questions !

Taking one challenge at a time ; but if gas prices keep going up;commuting might come sooner than later

Hey Jim, I rode a mtb for a short time before a big german shephard convinced me I needed more top end. I only rode the mtb on the road. Welcome to the bf.
