Hello from Nashville, TN

Been a cyclist all my life. but been 100% mtn biking for the last 25 yrs. Bought a Specialized Robaix Pro a year ago, and beginning to ride road more lately. Live right at the end of the Natchez Trace Parkway, so easy to get on and ride down and back. Still consider myself a roadie neophyte. Trying to learn about all the road bike equipment and parts. Do 99% of my own bike maintenance. Having trouble with my saddle/butt comfort, so signed up here to get some pointers. Been researching the Selle An-atomica saddle, and the Brooks B-17. I am using a saddle from one of my mtn bikes, the WTB Laser V Team Ti. Decent, but maybe can do better. I ride mtn about 2-3 times per week 1-2 hours, and road once per week, 20-25 miles or so. Definitely hooked on cycling. Trying to get into the road thing now. I feel like it is kin to mtb, but in many ways, like a different sport.

During the winter, I build and maintain on a mtb trail near my house. Active on the National Mountain Bike Forum, Tennessee Forum.

so......, Howdy!

Welcome to BF and road riding.
8,100 miles this year on the roads.
Standing to pedal in a high gear, when your butt tells you to will help.
Bike shorts, some butt cream.
Sometimes I wear Two Pair of shorts.
444 miles last week. Still get some saddle sores.

Comfy seats

Comfortable seats are found on recumbents, have you considered one? I just built my first, after giving up riding because I couldn`t find a seat that didn`t give me pain. I built mine cheaply, but they are becoming more common. Sundug
