hello from Portland!
hello, I've been checking things out here for a few weeks and just now thought I'd begin to contribute. I'm not new to cycling but it has been awhile since I rode and raced mountain bikes in the early 90s. I'm getting ready to purchase a new ride to replace my old 80s road bike and my 92 mtb. Anyway, looking forward to the community!

Hey danredwing, Welcome to BF.
I started with a 83 Nishiki Sport. Rode it 1,500 miles to get in shape for a new bike.

Hi Dan! I hope you aren't going to get rid of the older road bike 
! If nothing else, it would make a great back up beater bike.

you picked a bad weather time (G) I notice commuting usually drops off thsi time of year. but maybe not this year seems more commuters then ever. but we will see when it rains. I will be on my bike as usual. portland is a good bicycle city lots of roads to choose from.
