hello from norman

Just thought I would introduce myself. I am a clydesdale from Norman, OK and I just got into cycling recently by fixing up a bike I had when I was younger... So far I am taking it slow and trying to work my way up to longer rides (ususally 5-10 miles so far but I have only done 3 rides since I got the bike fixed). I am about start commuting to work and am hope to drop some of the weight that I have added during college.

Welcome to BF.
When I first started riding this year I would loose 1 lb for each 100 miles pedaled.
That stopped after 2300 miles. Now I am in much better shape.
Just got back from the first ride to the grocery store.

If I can do that I would be very excited... Right now I have an old Univega MTB that might be a little too small for me but I am going to ride it for a little while until I can get an actual road bike. Then I will just give my bike to my fiancee so she can ride it to campus.

Hi okacookie, I work for the USPS and all of our mechanics get sent for training in Norman. Some love it, others get terribly bored. They should all take up cycling--it would do them all some good .

Welcome to BikeForums, and don't hesitate to send me a PM if you have any questions!
