Hello SoCal
I just joined the forum after finding it through a Google search. I live in the OC and mostly ride the local trails. Took a long sabatical from mountian biking and just now getting back into it. When I was more active (mid-80's, LOL yep I'm an ole timer) I rode then a Nishiki Ariel put suspension on the front end and still have her. Use to hang out with about a dozen riders in our group and when they all moved away grew away from the sport. Now I'm back at it again (older and wiser). Recently picked up a full suspension an 08 Trek Fuel EX 8.0 and can attest technology makes a difference! Just wanted to say hello and thanks for the forum.

Hi rwmagnus, there's a lot of people out there with Nishiki Ariels. I have several Nishikis, but not an Ariel! I think I shall have to go looking .

Well look no further. Just got mine back from the shop with a tune up and replaced some worn parts. Upgraded the DX shifters to XT's and she's ready for sale. If you want a really clean Ariel this is the one. I have the original fork but the bike has suspension on the front end, a Specialized fork I think. Not 100% sure I want to sell it but with the full suspension Trek Fuel EX 8.0 I picked up I doubt the Nishiki is going to get much attention. I'll post a couple picks later when I get time.
Everyone else thanks for the welcome aboard message, looks like a great forum.
