Hello from a River Rat
Hi All,
My name is Alan and I live in a tiny community, in the redwoods, about 60 miles north of San Francisco. I located your site as I was hoping to find some information about my "vintage" bike. I didn't realize that it was considered so until reading various articles. I suppose one would also consider me to be vintage, lol.
I just recently reclaimed my bike from my little brother, who had bike-napped it 12 years ago! It's a Bertoni Corsamondiale, made in Italy, SLX tubing, Mavic wheels, and all Shimano 600 components. It only has, perhaps, 200 miles on it. I bought it on a whim when I was a very active addict (clean and sober for 16 years). Although I've acquired a nervous system condition which may limit any riding I do, I want to fiddle with it as I find that kind of project enjoyable. My dilemma? I'm an idiot when it comes to mechanical ventures, hence my membership here. I will need to ask for help. Thanks for having me and sorry that this rambles so!
