Hello Everyone

I've been a lurking member for some time now but always seemed too busy to stop and visit. You can call me Richard or richied. I'm from Lincoln, NE, work as a security admin in support of local justice and law enforcement, have three grown children, a wife and according to her, way too many bikes. I'm 63 years young and just started riding again after a 20-year hiatus when I dug my 73 Viscount Death Fork out of the garage and put her and me back on the road. I commute to work as often as possible and only stop when the ice and snow force me into the basement and onto a trainer.

I guess you could call me Old Skool cause if it's Made in China, is made of carbon or aluminum and features anything but friction shifting I'm not interested. Steel road bikes, particularly Treks prior to '87 are my particular interest. Happy to meet you all. I've discovered that people who love and ride bikes are the greatest and I look forward to sharing common interests in the future.

Make sure to join the fun in the C&V forum. Its the only place people will appreciate why someone would proudly ride on a deathfork.

welcome

Hi Richard,
I am fairly new here myself. I am getting back into riding after way too many years away. Just redid the hub bearings, added new cables etc.
I did a lot of touring back in the day, and rode across the country with a buddy back in 1986 (or '87). We went thru Lincoln that summer and stayed overnight with an interesting family (he was proud of having been rejected by the Hells Angels) with I think two young kids at the time. I would have to go thru my journals to get their names, but anyway, just wanted you to know at least one member here has been thru your town!
