Hello from Indianapolis!
I'm 37 years old and I've been a mountainbiker for years. I just recently built a Redline single speed for cruising the streets of Indy. Man, what a lot of fun! One of my main interests is bicycle advocacy. I'm a member of the League of American Bicyclists, Indiana Bicycle Coalition, Hoosier Mountain Bike Association, and IMBA. I work as an Information Security Analyst for Roche Diagnostics Corporation here in Indy. I sit behind computers all day so it's nice to get home and get one of the bikes out. Oops! Can't forget about my family......My two dogs, Maggie and Gracie.
If anyone's interested in riding the streets or trails, let me know I'm up for a ride anytime!
I'm originally from Indiana and used to live in Indy. Worked at Methodist Hospital back in 77-78 (so long ago I call it my "dinosaur life"). Indy has been rebuilt since then.
Thanks for the support in your advocacy work. There is a lot to do all over the USA to get cycling where it needs to be again.
If you ride single speed, get out there and support that Velodrome you have there. A good Velodrome is a rare and wonderful thing. If you haven't tried it, youre in for a treat! Back in Major Taylor's time, Indy had the largest Velodrome in the US that sat like 20,000 people. Then the guy that built it out-did himself with his next track...The Indianapolis Motor Speedway. All true.

Haven't done the N.I.T.E ride, yet. I missed this month because I was at the Chicago Bike Show. I plan on riding it in April, though. I figure I'll ride the SS.

You're right. Indy has been rebuilt since the 70's. The downtown area has really been cleaned up and there are all kinds of great things to do. We have a very bike-friendly mayor and he has a lot of great plans for biking.
