Howdy from Texas

Howdy! I just purchased my first road bike yesterday. I'm a former runner with knee issues (probably a common story) and hope cycling will be a new source of exercise and passion. I found this forum and look forward to learning from all you experienced riders out there.

Heya,

I too gave up on jogging for cycling and the lower impact. Hope you have fun here. What bike did you buy?

I found a 2005 Specialized Allez on Craigslist. Pretty basic components but it seemed a reasonable place to start. Had it tuned up and took it on a few 20 mile rides. I like it so far, of course I have no basis for comparison.

Hello from Fresno

I am fairly new to biking I started commuting to work last May when gas went up. But now I have kept riding becouse I am hooked. Who would have ever guessed I would become a bike junkie. I now look fowards to my daily rides. I just found this web site a few days ago, and wish I had discovered it sooner. I am currently ridding a Diamond Back Edgwood. I know it is on the lower end of the bike chain, but it has been a solid ride for me so far. I have not changed any of the major componuts just added a light and rack that sort of stuff. I have put over 2000 miles on it since last May with out any real Problems. Any way this site is great I have learned a lot from it and look forward to learning more.
