Hey Guy!! How ya doin? I have some friends from Michigan. Detroit and Kalamazoo. I guess my friends from Kalamazoo, Meg and Mimi Berry, would be the closest to you. Meg was on my clyling club, and then our race squad. She went to Nationals several times, and we had a blast!! I am also 53 y.o., and I will always ride. My son and I will go today, after he wakes up anyway. He has to adjust his rear brake before we go. He is twenty. He, Randy, is my eldest. As you can see, I waited until after I was done racing, to have a family. He will ride his MTB, and I will ride my road bike. It is a Medici, all steel Columbus tubing. Medici was one of my bike sponsors, so I got used to their frames. They ride just like a Colnago, but they are all custom hand-built frames. I got to know all of the people who worked there, and they custom built all my frames. Nice. My friend from Detroit, Steve Off, worked there. His wife, Evelyn, also went to the Women's Nationals, also on my cycling squad, and did very well. Steve played hockey on the Junior Red Wings!! We played hockey in Pasadena, Ca. It was not very popular back then.
It will be pleasant weather today. We live in Lake Havasu City, AZ. But, I grew up in Sierra Madre, Ca. That is the Los Angeles area. Congrats on losing the weight. It is usually hard to lose at our age, and I still have a nagging beer belly, I just seem to like it for some reason. It doesn't want to go. Good luck to you, and keep riding. Welcome to the Bike Forum! Later.
