Hello

Hello

New member from London. I've been cycling around town for the past five years on a couple of rubbishy MTBs, but, having spent the last year or so gazing at vintage racers in the street, I've just bought an old lightweight that I hope to bring back to something like its former glory.

Welcome thomas. Rubbish MTB's are great for just getting around town ... especially if you're worried about having an expensive bike stolen. Sound's like you've got a great project in the works with your vintage racer. You'll have to post pics in the Classic & Vintage forum.

What is the make, age, colour of the "old" lightweight - better yet give us a picture. I spent many pleasant hours in Greenwich Park last August, while staying with my daughter.

It's nothing particularly special: a silver Viscount 'Alamo' from the late 70s or early 80s bought from a man who'd retrieved it from a recycling plant, but I like it. It's not a full restoration, more a bit of a spruce-up.

Glad you enjoyed the park. It's a great place.

Hello Thomas, I enjoyed the photos of the Viscount. We have a member here who is fond of Viscounts as well (it's his username!).

Welcome to BikeForums, and don't hesitate to send me a PM if you have any questions!
