Hi, My name is John. I've been riding bikes since I was 7. I ride a well worn trek 4500 mountain bike. I'm currently in the process of making it a little more suited for commuting. I'm a 36yr old mechanical engineering student. I like to work on my bike, and would like to eventually try my hand at building a frame. I suppose that's about it for now. Thanks for having an awesome forum.

How far is your commute?
I have a 7.5 mile commute to a long distance bike ride.

Hi, It's about 5 miles. That's from home to school. I drive part of the way because of a sketchy section of highway I'm not ready to tackle.
