Hello ! From Warkworth, Ont

Hey Folks ! I found your forum while researching a trip planned for the Blue Ridge Parkway next fall. We were supposed to ride it this past fall, but I had to get a valve repaired in my heart and that "little procedure" set my training back a bit ! Its great to meet you all and thanks for all the info.
Regards, Twolane

Welcome to Bike Forums Twolane. Had to check the map to see where you're from. Close to Trenton. I'm living in Cambridge, ON. Sound's like you've got a nice trip planned next fall. How long after the operation before you're back to full-out training?

Hey Alfster ! Nice to meet you. Its been 9 months since the surgery and I'm working out pretty hard, Ive got just over a thousand miles on but I'm not quite 100% yet. I spent most of last year building cardio strength. Ive been on the Turbotrainer all winter. Ive got my sights set on the Becel Ride for Heart in T.O. in June. Have you ridden that? Or do you know anybody that has?

Sound's like you're well on your way to a full recovery. No, I have not gone to the Ride for Heart in TO, however I do ride annually in the Manulife Ride for Heart in Waterloo. It's a great time.

Ive heard of that ride, its a little too far away for me. The Ride for Heart will be a production too. It starts so early, I will have to stay down in Toronto Sat nite. Its 75k I think, so it should be a good warm up for the BRP.
