New USA member lives in St Louis Mo area, North County

I joined the forum because I found information about my bike, which is kind of vintage.

I ride a 1981ish Nishiki Royale. I bought the bike brand new at Jim's Redlight Bike Shop in Kankakee IL, back in 1982. Medium grey with gold lettering and accents. Shimano 600 components. I think it is a beautiful bike and it is like new because I only started riding it regularly in 2007... a long story.

I like to ride all the time but traffic is scary. I run errands, go to meetings, work out and spend time with my friends and family on my bike. I hope to use it for sometimes commuting, but I need to get a job first, because I was laid off last fall!

I have just decided to buy another bike, to try some mountain biking, but I think it would be best to start off with a used one in good condition that fits. I am a little worried about getting a good fit. I figure I will need to spend between $100-250.

My favorite blog is the fatcyclist.com Check it out if you like sarcasm.

Have fun, ride safe and share the road.

Hi John, here's hoping you find a job soon...in the meantime, post some photos of your Nishiki in the Classic & Vintage forum so that we can admire it.

Welcome to BikeForums, and don't hesitate to send me a PM if you have any questions.

Sure, I will have to take some pics, not something I do much, but I will get around to it.
