Classic steel frame enthusiast

Greetings from the hot, humid flatlands of Ft Lauderdale, FL. I've cycled on and off for several decades, with my first serious participation taking place while I was working my way through college in the mid to late 70's. My first "pro" bike was a Motobecane Team Champion in Bic Team orange, which I hope to eventually find another of. Please feel free to contact me if you have one or know of someone who is selling one - the earlier orange road bike, not the later blue one; especially if it has the period correct components (Campy NR, Cinelli). Right now I'm riding a semi-custom Davidson Impulse, upgraded from the original downtube 7 speed 600 shifters to 9 speed Ultegra brakeshifting system. It works reasonably well for the flat, fast riding we do here early in the morning before it gets too hot, but I may be looking for something that jumps and sprints well too. Look up South Broward Wheelmen if you're ever in the area and are looking for a flat, fast 40-miler. Cheers! Paul

You might try keeping an eye on iBob -- if you haven't seen it, find the iBob and CR list at www.bikelist.com. Good luck.

Paul, you might want to explore the Classic & Vintage forum, too.
