Biking The US in 2010

I am new to this forum because it look like I made need a lot of good advice.
My teenage son and I are seriously discussing biking across the USA from the Pacific NW to Boston in June/July 2010. Over 3200 miles. I am planning to take off work 2 months to do this with him.
We want to try and raise money thru pledges for a very worthwise cause, such as "Breast Cancer Awareness".
I will be 51 next summer and my son will be 16.
I welcome any & all comments, suggestions, tips, advice, hints, leads, etc.

Definitely check with the Touring forum folks. It's important to have a plan, and get in the appropriate training for such a trip. They will be most helpful.

Where in the PNW are you?

Welcome to BikeForums!

East Hill,
We live in Central Louisiana. We would just fly out to Portland and start the trip from Warrenton, OR.
I have developed an outlined plan, which includes training.

Ah, ok!

If you put up the plan, the Touring folks can critique it for you, and let you know if there's any small details to be worked out.

Good luck!

Is there a way to attach a spreadsheet to a post? You mentioned Touring folks, do I need to post on another section of this forum? If we do this, I will need all that good luck and some Bengay too
Thx

Here's the Touring Forum:

http://www.bikeforums.net/touring/

If there's a way to attach a spreadsheet, one of them will know how.

Mustang, Pontiac, or possibly did the Jag E type come in a 2+2 that year?

And nice trip. Definitely get some tips from the touring forum. That's going to be quite the adventure.
